THE WINES

The Marches offer a great variety of wines. Among the most famous of the area there are certainly the Rosso Conero, typical of the lands of the province of Ancona, the red Piceno, the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba.

There are numerous wineries in the Marche region, many of these also offer guided tours and tastings.

In the hilly area of ​​the Marches there are many wine itineraries that can be followed, immersed in a typical and uncontaminated landscape, characterized by the presence of numerous medieval villages.

The wineries of the best known Marche are those of Verdicchio di Jesi, Verdicchio di Matelica , Rosso Piceno Superiore , Lacrima di Morro d’Alba , Rosso Conero and Bianchetto del Metauro . Each of these locations corresponds to a typical Wine Route to make healthy wine tourism in the Marche.

  • Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Wine Route: Starting from Jesi, an itinerary immersed in the local culture scattered among typical villages such as Montecarotto, Staffolo and a countryside full of farmhouses and wineries from the Marche producing fine wines such as Verdicchio. 
  • Verdicchio di Matelica Wine Route: From the spectacular and evocative Frasassi Caves, various routes branch off where you can taste dishes and wines from the Marche region, then towards Fabriano, then you reach Cerreto d’Esi and finally Matelica. Important is the visit to Castelraimondo and Camerino.
  • Strada del Vino Rosso Piceno Superiore: The renowned wine of this area should not be confused with the Rosso Piceno which belongs to another geographical area. From Offida towards the fortresses of Acquaviva Picena to get to San Benedetto del Tronto.
  • Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Wine Route: North of Ancona you can appreciate a small itinerary where the DOC Morro d’Alba is produced, one of the most popular Marchigiani vines.
  • Strada del Vino Rosso del Conero: For a visit and wine tasting of the Marche, the route starts from Ancona and heads towards Numana and Sirolo, full of surprises and charm. The arrival is in Loreto and is particularly appreciated for the presence of the Conero Regional Park.
  • Strada del Vino Bianchello del Metauro: It touches the municipalities of Urbania, Cagli, Pergola, Acqualagna, and Fossombrone. From Urbania continue immersed in local history and culture admiring the vine-colored hillside.
