Recanati, the city of Giacomo Leopardi. Among the main sites of tourist interest the Leopardi places stand out: the square of the “Sabato del villaggio”, overlooked by the eighteenth-century Palazzo Leopardi, the poet’s birthplace, which houses the precious Library containing over 20,000 volumes, and the “House of Silvia; the “Colle dell’Infinito”, the summit of Mount Tabor that inspired the poem of the same name composed by the poet at 21, with the ancient garden of the monastery of the Poor Clares, recently opened to the public thanks to the collaboration with the FAI, the Center World of Poetry and Culture, the National Center for Leopardian Studies, a point of reference for all Leopardian initiatives, both in Italy and in the world; the “Tower of the Solitary Sparrow”, located in the courtyard of the cloister of Sant’Agostino, Palazzo Antici Mattei, home of Giacomo’s mother.
